Oops! I am such an idiot sometimes…

So I was sitting on the couch last night trying to modify a theme I want to use and guess what I did? I’ll give you three guesses…

Sorry all your guesses are wrong (unless you actually guess right, obviously)! So, I spilled Kool-Aid (yes, Kool-Aid) all over my laptop. What a waist of perfectly good cherry Kool-Aid. I spilled the whole freaking glass. It went down into my keyboard, into the speaker that is under the screen on the left side of my laptop and out through the fan at the bottom of my laptop meaning it got inside.

At first, I was so shocked and surprised  at first that I actually did it. Believe it or not I have never spilled any liquid more then 1 or 2 drops on my computer. It took me about 2-3 minutes to even realize that I got the computer as I also poured half of it in my lap.

Scared of the dentist

I think this is a common theme a lot of people seem to be a part of, being scared of the dentist. I am going at 10 AM tomorrow and have been stressing about it all day. The time before last was the first time in years since I last saw a dentist, mainly because I could not afford one and had no dental insurance. After the x-rays he advised me my teeth were in pretty good shape for a 33 year old that had not seen a dentist in over 15 years. I did have 4 small cavities though, one in each of my back molars and that my wisdom teeth had no room to come out and he was surprised they were not giving me issues and that I had not had them out when I was younger.

I made the appointment to come back to have the cavities filled, however something came up and I canceled the appointment with the promise I would call back the next week and re-schedule. Needless to say I did not. A few months later one of the molars with a cavity cracked and then a small piece broke off, after a day it was sore so I called and went back in, he told me I had an abscess and would need a root canal or the tooth pulled. So I made the appointment and he put a temporary filling in that never hardened. I wasn’t bothering me and stupid me, I never made an appointment to go back. [...]

Fibromyalgia, sleep, diabetes and weight loss

I am finally using my gym membership! In the last 14 days I have been to the Canada Games Centre gym 7 times for 1 1/2 – 2 hours each time, gone on 5 long walks on the other days and had 2 days “off” (went camping 4 days out of the 14). I am really loving the exercise.

My boyfriends sister has been going with me. From here on out we plan on going 2 days in a row and taking the 3rd “off”. In still plan on doing something on those days, a walk maybe. I’ve been walking on the treadmill and am working my speed up to a jog. Doesn’t sound like much, but to someone who spends the evenings and weekends on the couch its a good start.

My family doctor said loosing weight would be helpful for my fibromyalgia.  So did the specialist. I’m 191 lbs (86.6 kg), my goal is 125 lbs (56.7 kg). I have not really set a time frame though. I’m hoping it will lower my blood sugar as well as help with the sleep and pain issues associated with the fibromyalgia. [...]

Spring is here!

I have been so horrible with posting lately. I think I haven’t even been on my computer in over a month! Seriously I have not even picked it up (laptop obviously). I don’t even really have much to say. Everything is going pretty good. Still enjoying my new role at work. Still waiting for summer to come after a long cold winter and early spring. So might as well jump right into picture from the first warm and sunny day so far. It almost reached 20°C!

Is it better to be second or not at all?

Sometimes it really sucks to always come in second or third. Yes, I came in second at work again. It’s so frustrating. Sometimes I think it is best to just not know how you made out compared to others. I would not say that I am an overly competitive person. I would much rather best my own record then someone else’s record. But maybe I really need to become more outwardly competitive?

I guess in a way I did beat my record, so-to-speak, last time I came in third, this time I apparently came in second. Which is a step up. I guess I am just getting bored. I love my job but I find it is not challenging me enough. I just feel bored and tired when a call comes in, it just feels like the same old stuff.

I don’t really know how to challenge myself. Other then my attendance which is a work in progress the only other thing I got a standard rather then an exceeds standard in for my yearly review was my “computer skills”. Which was very loosely defined. Basically I really have no idea how or what they are looking for to get to “exceeds standards” for that. I guess I am going to have to get someone to really explain what they are looking for so I have a better idea. [...]

Another chance to move up the ladder…

So to speak. There is a position open at work for a member of our internal support team which helps agents locate the information that they need when troubleshooting issues. I don’t believe it pays any more then a regular agent if I remember correctly but would be excellent experience for moving into a coach (supervisory) position.

Unfortunately the email came out a few days ago when half of our projects agents had no access to email as our email server was having issues and you could only randomly get connected for short periods of time and emails would get “lost” and not show up for days or at all. So I missed the email .

It was not until I had my year end review yesterday that I found out about it and was told it was to late. I was not happy and neither was a handful of other people. I found out today that they decided to extend the deadline for applying to the position until 9 PM tonight. I was scheduled for training today (to take training this time not to give it) for 4 hours and we were busy and I was scared I would not have time to apply. [...]
