  • A skill I don’t have

What’s one skill you’ve wanted but don’t have?

When I was in school I always loved art class with the exception of freehand drawing. I could draw pretty well if I was looking at something and drawing it. Like an image or a bowl of fruit, or your typical high school or college art school subjects. However if the teacher would tell us to use our imagination and draw something free hand without looking at it I had a really hard time with that.

I don’t think it had anything to do with not having much of an imagination. I have always preferred reading a book to watching a movie for that reason, because I was free to imagine things how I wanted to imagine them. I have always had a pretty vivid imagination. I can come up with stories pretty easily and I am able to imagine things fairly easily. However when it came to putting something down on paper I always got stuck. I could write the words with no issue. But to draw something to go along with it. I just can not seem to do that. [...]

  • Fall is sort of peaking its head out.

It’s been a really warm September over all. We had a few cooler days but mostly in the high teens and 20’s (Celsius) which is higher then normal for this time of year. It’s been beautiful though and I am not complaining. In some places the leaves are starting to change now near the end of September but other areas are still so green. It’s like living in two worlds.

Since I spent a good chunk of September sick I did not get out a lot with my camera. However I did a few weekends ago go to Oak Island like I mentioned before. It made me sicker for a day or two after but I am glad I still went. I was able to take some pictures but really nothing has changed much since last time I was there. It was still a nice drive there and nice walk through the island to the money pit. [...]

  • Three Autumn Quotes

When I think of Autumn I think of pumpkins, and ghouls and goblins and little children trick-or-treating. I think of  the leaves changing, of bundling up to stay warm and the crisp cool air. To me no one can describe autumn as well as these three author and poets.

The autumn wind is a pirate. Blustering in from sea with a rollicking song he sweeps along swaggering boisterously. His face is weather beaten, he wears a hooded sash with a silver hat about his head… The autumn wind is a Raider, pillaging just for fun.
    ~ Steve Sabol

A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away and all the leaves away, and the trees stand. I think, I too, have known autumn too long.
    ~ E.E. Cummings

There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!
    ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley [...]

  • I miss my boyfriend…

It seems a really odd thing to say when he is sitting here next to me on the dock fishing but it’s kinda true.

It’s a bit hard to explain but lately I feel like he is slowly slipping away from me. It’s hard sometimes to get him out of the house, with the exception of going fishing, which he usually readily agrees to.

I don’t know if it is depression, boredom, pain or something else but sometimes it just feels like he is here, but not here. It feels as if we are strangers living together. It’s so hard to get him to talk.

We talk about current affairs, things we’ve done, shows we’ve seen, etc. However the topic of the future always causes a topic change, or even downright avoidance. We can’t seem to get past the basics. [...]

  • Loving the new ride!

I have to admit I have driven the new car a lot over the last few days gabapentin medication. We’ve gone through a little more then half a tank of gas since Friday when we picked the car up. It’s really great to drive.

We went for the drive to Crystal Crescent Beach Saturday, went fishing Sunday at Jerry Lawrence park and then today we went downtown to the waterfront. I took some images, I will get them processed and in a post tomorrow or Wednesday sometime.

Work today was kind of busy. We have 4-5 meetings 1 hour meetings a day from here on out with agents. Me and a IST agent (internal support team) are taking turns training the others. I am still working on the coaching stuff and other stuff I was given as well. I’m still moving forward which is a good direction to go, it’s better then backwards, LOL. [...]

  • Back to the gym :)

I was scheduled to work 10:30-6:30 this week so I decided to change my schedule for next week to be the same, anticipating more bad (rainy) weather but this past weekend it really warmed up and is beautiful outside. Warm nights and even warmer days.

Next week there is only 2 days with light rain showers and the daytime temperature is not supposed to dip below 16°C. I think next week I will ask for 9-5 for a while. So I have the evenings to get out and do stuff.

Kristy my boyfriends sister messaged me today to see if I wanted to go to the gym, so we decided to go for an hour or so tonight. We just got back. It was a bit hard after a week of slacking off to get back into it again. Lucky for me they have some stair steppers, exercise bikes and treadmills with TV’s attached. [...]
