I can’t believe it’s July already! The 2nd to be exact. Not counting today, because today is almost over there are 3 days left until my 40th birthday. Can’t believe I am almost 40 either! This has been a year to remember, I won’t soon forget the last half of my 39th & the first half of my 40th years on earth, that’s for sure. It’s been one for the books.
Speaking of books. I finally got an email from the school admitting they did get my tuition and there was a delay in processing it. So I am good. That’s a huge relief. I got a lot done today in one course as well. Read a chapter and a half, did an assignment, quiz, and a project. I got 85% on the quiz. Not bad but I would have liked to have at least 90%. The assignment and project will not likely be marked for a few days. I think I did really well on the project and am sure I did well on the assignment as well.
I am a little behind in everything as I spent 3 days sick and a few days without access. I think I am overthinking things and even overdoing things actually. I have been doing all the practice problems and things for each chapter which they are not asking for. I just figured they would help me understand the topics, but honestly, they don’t. I find it much better to watch YouTube videos on the topics covered when I don’t understand something then going through the practice problems or re-reading the chapter. I think doing that is actually holding me back.
I am not the greatest when it comes to self-directed study, it’s a bit of a learning curve. I am not even sure half the time what they want but in seeing what others are saying on the forums for the classes it seems everyone feels the same that it’s not set out very good and that everyone is left misunderstanding or questioning what they are doing. I have started just emailing my academic advisor for the course, but it takes days sometimes for them to get back to you. Phone’s not an option due to Covid-19 which I don’t even get… you can use your home computer but not set up phone somehow like all the other academic institutions around here?
Whatever I guess… I am figuring it all out on my own and my grades are not bad so I must be doing something right.
