Where did the time go?

Wow… I am so horrible at keeping a blog sometimes. It seems like yesterday it was May and I had just posted my last post. Then all of a sudden it is the end of June and I realized I have not posted anything at all here since the beginning of May. Where the heck did the time go? It’s not like I was busy really. I have been home pretty much doing nothing for weeks. Things have slowed down for my mom’s business over the summer, which is typical as the courts aren’t really open in the summertime. So I haven’t had a lot to do.

I have always wanted to get back into banking and working for a bank so after talking it over with Edward and my mom I decided to start applying again and guess what? I got a job. It’s about 30 minutes away in Bridgetown at a bank there. I will be working in a branch as a teller part-time! Which is exactly what I wanted. I don’t really need to work full-time at the moment and neither does Edward if we have the right jobs.

So I start on July 8th! I am so excited. My birthday is July 6th and Edward’s is the 11th, so it’s going to be a great weekend next weekend before I start. It means unfortunately that we will now not be able to go on our PEI vacation as I start in the middle of it but it’s worth it. My parents have set up a nice little camp with a pop-up trailer, fire pit and chemical toilet (in a toilet tent) down at the beach on their property that they live on. So we are going to spend the weekend at the beach camping. We might set up the tent that we got for Christmas as well for more space with the air mattress we got a few years ago.

I am so excited and happy to be working for a bank again. I won’t say which one but it is one of the top 5 in Canada and I really can’t wait to get started. I really can’t wait to develop my talent and work towards management or a specialty area. Best of all though will be working within a branch and not working in a call center taking calls. It was really getting tedious but I so badly wanted to continue with banking and really turn it into a lifetime career and now I will get another opportunity to do just that!

  1. It’s hard when your routine changes to adapt so I get it, but congrats on the job. Well, happy early birthday if I don’t get to tell you closer to time, and it’s good to hear that you don’t have to give up your birthday celebrations.

    1. Thanks! I am excited about this coming weekend even if I don’t get to go to PEI. We are still planning a trip somewhere for tomorrow.
